Happy Monday Quotes #12: Exploration

In honor of Columbus Day, I’m not going to get into the historical controversy of celebrating it. I’m just going to honor the more positive spirit of it by delivering a few quotes about the excitement of exploration.

“We shall not cease from exploration, and the end of all our exploring will be to arrive where we started and know the place for the first time.” — T.S. Eliot (from Four Quartets)

“That is the exploration that awaits you! Not mapping stars and studying nebula, but charting the unknown possibilities of existence.” — Leonard Nimoy

“We need the tonic of wildness…At the same time that we are earnest to explore and learn all things, we require that all things be mysterious and unexplorable, that land and sea be indefinitely wild, unsurveyed and unfathomed by us because unfathomable. We can never have enough of nature.” —  Henry David Thoreau (from Walden: Or, Life in the Woods)
